BBQ Basics Smoking Class for Beginners
Low & Slow Smoked BBQ - Watch, Learn & Taste the Flavour Difference
Looking to up your BBQ game or finally understand how smoking meats really works at home?
Join our laid-back, demonstration-style class where we take the mystery out of low & slow cooking. You'll taste a full range of smoked meats, straight out of backyard-style BBQs - all while learning how different fuels, cuts, and techniques can dramatically change the flavour.
It's the perfect arvo out - with meat, mates, and a pitmaster leading the way.
What You'll Experience:
- Show & Tell Style: No hands-on prep - just relaxed, insightful demonstrations led by our in-house pitmaster.
- Overnight Smoked Meats: Most of the BBQ meats are cooked low and slow overnight, carefully watched over by our pitmaster to ensure they're perfectly timed for the class.
- Fall-Off-the-Bone Tenderness: Each cut is presented in real time as the lids lift open on our smokers - an unforgettable reveal as the aroma hits and the meats slide off the bone.
- Wood, Rub & Cut Pairings: We use regular butcher cuts with a variety of pre-packaged rubs and different smoking woods to show how these combinations influence taste.
-
Compare Backyard BBQ Setups: Watch how different
types of smokers perform - with relatable gear you might already have
at home:
- Ceramic Charcoal Smokers: - kamado-style BBQs known for their heat control and charcoal flavour.
- Offset Wood Smoker: - for the purists who love managing wood in a traditional American style horizontal BBQ smoker.
- Pellet Wood Smoker: - consistent smoke flavour and easy to use. Some would say this is cheating!
- Ask Away: This class is all about helping you figure out what's going wrong (or right) at home. We encourage questions and give down-to-earth advice tailored to your BBQ journey.
