BBQ Basics Classes, Sydney

For almost a decade, we’ve been running BBQ classes for our customers who want to get more out of their barbecues.

Many people start with a quality BBQ, then quickly realise there’s more to it than lighting a fire and cooking the same few meals on repeat. Different barbecues behave differently. Fuel choice matters. Airflow matters. And the way you cook fast and hot is very different to how you cook low and slow.

Our classes are designed to bridge that gap through demonstration, explanation, and experience.

They’re built for people who have purchased one of our BBQs, or are exploring different BBQ styles, and want to better understand how various barbecues work, how different foods behave on them, and how to get more consistent results at home.

Over the years, we’ve run public classes and private group sessions, always with the same focus. Sharing knowledge, building confidence, and enjoying great BBQ along the way.

Our Low and Slow BBQ Classes Are the Most Popular

Low and slow smoking has been our most popular class format to date.

It’s where many BBQ owners feel least confident, and where understanding the fundamentals makes the biggest difference. Managing temperature over time, understanding smoke, choosing the right fuel and wood, and learning how different barbecues perform are skills that carry across all styles of BBQ cooking.

These classes are demonstration-based and educational. We explain what’s happening at each stage, why certain techniques work, and how the same principles apply across different BBQs and different cuts of meat.

A big part of the experience is the food.

Throughout the class, guests get to taste a variety of properly barbecued and smoked meats. If your main goal is to learn, you’ll walk away with a much clearer understanding of how BBQ really works. If you’re just as happy to sit back, ask a few questions, and enjoy a generous spread of BBQ, that’s perfectly fine too.

Private Group BBQ Classes

We also offer private group BBQ classes.

If you’ve got a group of friends, corporate or family who want to learn together, or simply enjoy a relaxed BBQ experience, you can CONTACT US at any time to find a suitable date for your group.

Private group BBQ classes require a minimum of 10 people and follow the same demonstration-based format, with plenty of food to taste and time to ask questions.
