Cooking food using a barbecue can be done using different techniques:
- Smokers cook meat slowly, allowing the flavors to develop and at the same time become more tender.
- Open Grills uses direct heat to cook foods at moderate to high heat, sealing in juices and cooking in shorter periods.
- Ceramic Grills are more like efficient ovens, sealing in moisture as well as trapping and holding in more residue heat.
- Rotisseries on the other hand uses skewers and spit rods to hold cuts of meat, which evenly cook and self bastes as it turns.
